We're on a little bit of a roll with Decaf in the roastery.
After last month's La Plata/Inza, we're making our way through a sack of another delicious Colombian decaf, this month from Luz Helena Salazar's Farm, La Leona. There's a little caramelised white chocolate sweetness, alongside some classic darker berry notes in each delightful cup.
Luz Helena happens to be the mother of the founders of one of our importer partners, Cofinet, so this Decaf comes with some serious coffee-growing heritage. Each cherry is handpicked by the team on the farm before undergoing 30 hours of underwater fermentation, pulping, washing and drying.
As with many of our favourite decafs, the beans are decaffeinated using the Sugarcane EA method, renowned for retaining a lot of the coffee's flavour and aroma.
